Dolomites hike in val di fassa – Val d’Ega: troi da le feide. A beautiful panoramic excursion on the Catinaccio. Depart from the Hotel ADLER Carezza by public transport to Vigo di Fassa. Thus, get the timetable here http://www.sii.bz.it and type departure: “Nova Levante, ADLER“, arrival “Vigo di Fassa, Catinaccio cableway“.

This picturesque Dolomites hike in val di fassa – Val d’Ega on the Catinaccio leaves from the mountain station above Vigo di Fassa. Once reached the bottom station of a cable car, follow the trail 545 troi da le feide, the sheep trail towards the Roda di Vael refuge and the Pederiva hut. Above all, this trail offers breathtaking views of the Dolomites, primarily the Roda di Vael, a part of the massif of the Catinaccio that surrounds you to the south-west-north side. Clockwise you will see the peaks of Sasso Piatto and Sassolungo, the Sella Group, the Marmolada, the Monzoni group, the Pale di San Martino and the Latemar group in the south.
The trail starts at about 2,000m above sea level and climbs up to 2,300m. Once you reach the altitude, follow the path with little gradient until you reach the Roda di Vael and Pederiva refuge. Indeed, enjoy a well-deserved break in this spectacular place and listen to the marmots’ whistles, where they are very active to the Eastern rim next to the refuges.

At this point, do you think, the hike was enough and you would like not to go too far anymore? So follow trail 539 to the Paolina hut and take the Paolina cable car down, and then the bus back to Hotel ADLER Carezza.
However, if you think that the route can go further, this is our recommendation:
